Minor characters of Inuyasha

This beautiful woman was Inuyasha's mother. She died long before the start of the TV series, but we first saw her when Inuyasha's brother, Sesshoumaru, used her likeness to trick Inuyasha into revealing the location of his father's gravesite. In the third movie, we see a bit of backstory concerning her and Inuyasha's father. Izayoi was very kind-hearted and loved her son very much.

A member of the the Shichinintai [Seven-Man Group], he has an incredible hatred of women. So, subsequently, he really likes men. More specifically, he has the crush of a lifetime on Inuyasha. Yes, people, Jakotsu is gay, and we love him for it. He is pretty sadistic, too, like his leader, Bankotsu, with whom he is pretty close.

Jii-chan is Kagome's grandfather. He's very proud of his heritage, and often bluffs on how illustrious it is. He's very kind to Kagome, and helps her out by fibbing to her friends and teachers about her whereabouts when she's in feudal Japan. His lies about her sicknesses get way too outrageous--it makes for some great comedy, though! He did run into a demon of his own, though, when he and Souta both encountered a Noh Theater mask.

The half-demon that Kagome and Inuyasha met while retrieving an antidote for Kirara after she bit Naraku in episode 30. He's half-horse demon, and his mom still takes care of him even though she's very old now. He's very strong (as in punching-power strong), but very gentle.

Jinenji's father was a horse demon (but appeared to the mother in his human form). He died before we meet the mother and son, but he left his herb farm to them. His mother still cares for him, even in her old age.

This guy is part of the 4/5th detachment from Naraku. His body houses another detachment named Kageroumaru, who controls him. He first battles Kouga, and proved to be too fast for him! When the Yasha gang showed up to pick a fight with Naraku as well, Juuroumaru and Kageroumaru immediately sliced off the head of Naraku's kugutsu [puppet]! Though it took a little while and some smart moves by Sango, Kouga, and Inuyasha, Kouga and the Yasha gang defeated them.

He is part of the 4th/5th detachment from Naraku. He lives within the belly of another detachment named Juuroumaru, whom he controls. He first battles Kouga, and proved to be too fast for him! When the Yasha gang showed up to pick a fight with Naraku as well, Juuroumaru and Kageroumaru immediately sliced off the head of Naraku's Kugutsu [puppet]! Though it took a little while and some smart moves by Sango, Kouga, and Inuyasha, Kouga and the Yasha gang defeated them.

Simply "mama" to practically everyone in the show, Kagome's mother is sweet, incredibly understanding considering how she's so cool about Kagome's trips to the past (probably not knowing entirely how much danger Kagome is in, but having a feeling that it's not a picnic over there). She's always nice, and it becomes obvious throughout the series that she's a helluva lot more observant than you might think.

The main antagonist of the second Inuyasha movie. She was a strange sort of species: not a demon, not human, not an angel. She was a tennyo [Heavenly Maiden] that desired to recover her hagoromo [Angel's Raiment], something that people of her race treasure as being part of their power. She was trapped in a mirror when Kagura and Kanna freed her by breaking the seal using five items. She did retrieve her hagoromo, but Inuyasha killed her for attacking, hurting, and kidnapping Kagome.

The evil ex-apprentice of Toutousai, Kaijinbou was commissioned by Sesshoumaru to craft a sword from the teeth of Naraku's third detachment, Goshinki. Why? Because Goshinki had biten through Inuyasha's sword, Tessaiga. (I know it's a lot of name-dropping). The sword ended up possessing Kaijinbou, and he ultimately died because of it. The sword he made was named Toukijin.
